CDG728 is a CMOS, 8-channel analog matrix switch with a serial controlled dual wire interface. The conduction resistance matching between switches is strict, and the conduction resistance curve is very flat throughout the entire signal range. This device is equally excellent whether used as a multiplexer, demultiplexer, or switch array; The input signal range can be extended to the power supply voltage range.
CDG728 and CDG729 are compatible with I2C ™ The interface standard is compatible with a dual wire serial interface, both equipped with two external address pins (A0 and A1), allowing users to set 2 LSB for 7-bit slave addresses. Four of these two devices can be connected on the same bus. CDG728 also includes a RESET pin, which should be connected to a high level when not in use.
Each channel is controlled by one bit of an 8-bit word. This means that these devices can be configured in various ways, with all channels or any channel being connected at any time, or no channel being connected.
When the device is powered on, all switches are in the off state, and the internal shift register is all zero. All channels adopt a first open and then close switch to prevent instantaneous short circuits when switching channels.
